Hey, I'm Sophie

A few years ago, I relocated here with my family. What started as a temporary contract slowly turned into a new chapter of life abroad.
Origins of It All
Moving to Germany wasn’t in the original plan. As with many expat shifts, it started as a job chance and soon grew into something far greater.
The opening months were demanding — unfamiliar processes, routines, and expectations. Day-to-day chores seemed more complex than expected.
The Adjustment Period
Culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning were common. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began crafting something that felt secure.
Why I Built Studio Silent Lounge
Most online guidance fell into corporate relocation tips or mere surface tourist material. What was absent was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Germany.
